These are our "boys".
These are the best kids we could have, and we love them probably
as much as we would human children. The difference? Ours will kennel up when
we don't want them about, they only eat $30 worth of food a month, they play
nicely with each other and they are quiet :)

This
is my valentine boy. He was the first. He was born Feb. 14th 1998,
I saw him shortly after and decided right then and there that this is the one
for me. He's a Border Collie/Aussie mix. As for the name, have no idea how that came about, just that it
fits. And I'm not even sure how that is exactly either. Anyway, I
picked Chap up at 6weeks old. He was the runt but for sure the cutest
one. He's a social butterfly now, loves women and children. Not
too sure about men though, but gives them more of a chance now than he did
younger. Chap's pretty lazy though, he doesn't do a lot of running
around. He's more the lay at your feet and stare up at you type,
or better yet, be on your lap and stare at you type. But that's alright,
I love him anyway, most of the time.

Tex is child two, born Sept. 11, 2001 (yep, that's the day).
Border Collie/Aussie mix. He started out so small and
cute. Now he's big and not cute but he's really pretty. He has the
shiniest coat. And fanatical about his football? OOoh yeah!
It squeaks, and let me tell you, if you need his attention, just squeak that
thing. We take them to the park so Tex can chase the football in a large
area and when he can't hardly run anymore and his tongue is turning slightly
blue I'll put the football in the backpack. Not more than a few minutes
after laying there panting he'll get up and grab the backpack. The whole
thing! He apparently isn't done playing, even though he's ready to pass
out at any moment. Anyway, he's a great dog for us. If it was
anyone else however, he would die from being so afraid of them. He's definitely
a one family dog, make that a two person dog. Neurotic to say the
least. But I can't help but love him. He's my agility prospect.

Karma (that's what he's name has actually become, but
for the sake of the established "theme" his vet records say Carmex)...ok,
so Karma is our newest staying addition. We fostered Howard before we
acquired Karma. Karmie was a dog I heard about that was going to be
euthanized because he wasn't a certain line of Australian Shepherd. The
story goes that some old lady Aussie breeder got sick, her family stepped in
and got rid of the dogs. This other Aussie "breeder" got
Karma and another Aussie who's name is Dash. She didn't want the dogs
because they weren't her own dogs. Why she took them in the first place
is a mystery. Anyway, she said she was going to put them down unless
someone took them. Going to look at them Dash was definately the
pretiest of the two and more well behaved. Karma had a wound on his paw
and was super skinny. He was kind of nervous but came up to me when I
knelt down. The gal I was with tried to talk me into taking Dash, but I
didn't want Dash (she took him though). Karma is great. He's our
Halloween K9, yep, born Oct. 31st 2004. He was so malnourished that you could
count his ribs from a distance. But today, he's doing great. He is
comic relief around here, not that we needed more of that but it's
great. He's learning to fetch, has it down pretty well. The day he
can actually get the football away from Tex, we'll have trouble.
He's a great dog, and beautiful! I've been sold of the breed because of
him. I think Aussies are great. He is an agility prospect too.
We believe in pet rescue and pet foster homes. The best
animals we've ever had have been rescues and fosters. Chance, Mystery
and Myschief and Karma were all rescues and Howard was a foster dog.
These animals have been through rough times in their lives and there is no
better feeling when they begin to trust you. Being able to care for an
animal in that way is a honor. Please visit the links below and if you
feel moved, please support the cause. Anything helps.
